Help end food insecurity in Irving ISD
75% of Irving ISD students face food insecurity. Donors and volunteers provide 1,000 weekly food bags so no child goes hungry.
HOW IT STARTED
A middle school counselor noticed a student struggling with schoolwork and behavior — he hadn’t eaten. That one conversation sparked everything.
ISF supporters began counting how many students needed help. Bowie Middle School offered a classroom. Donors brought shelves. Volunteers packed bags.
On January 18, 2019, the first build filled 85+ bags for 7 campuses. By the next week, bag counts had doubled. The year ended with Travis Middle School donating storage, new volunteers joining, and 800+ students helped.
