"Recently a scholar was telling me how hard their year has been because they were in and out of houses and their grandmother passed away. The grandmother was a stable guardian with food and a home and when she passed, life was difficult. When we started talking about the food bags and how he felt, he gave me a giant hug and said, "GREAT!" When I asked why it was so great, he responded that they get the bags from the counselors each week and he and his sister no longer had to worry!"

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: "Students are very appreciative to be able to take home food that can be prepared by them and or their guardians."

"One particular family mentioned how thankful they are to receive the food. Grandma (primary guardian of 5) said it has helped her a lot and even said we could decrease sending 5 bags, just to send 3. 🙂 She is very happy to use what we send and it helps offset her grocery bill."
